Started the Mt.Ijen solo trek , on a chilly & windy early morning 2am with my able and wonderful guide…..wind blowing against me, struggling to find a grip on the loose sandy soil beneath the shoes. At times almost gave up while encountering steep bends and curves with foot slipping….but strong will power and a never give up attitude made me chug along one step at a time….I reached the top of the crater. Then started the 800mts descent into the crater to see the lake and the magnificent Blue Fire….never witnessed anything like this in my life….it was worth the every drop of sweat and trek to see it. Climbed back up to see the beautiful sunrise….
A moderately difficult trek…needs a fair amount of fitness levels. For those who can’t trek the whole way..not to worry…there’s the Ijen limousine that will take you up….
